Bob Starkey signed the Davis-Monthan Register eight times
between April 5, 1929 and June 7, 1930. His first landing
was in a military Boeing, A-7729.
It is not clear if Starkey was in the military at that time,
or was ferrying this airplane for Boeing.
His second landing was in Lockheed Vega NC7952 on
August 20, 1929. This famous airplane is on display at the
National Air & Space Museum, Washington, DC. His passenger
that day was Theodore
T. Hull a frequent visitor to Tucson. Follow the links
for further information, and to see images.
Starkey shows up in a July 1925 news article, along with
Bert Saxby, as a participant in an American Legion 4th of
July airshow.
