NC9331 was owned by Al
Hudgin, who was in the FBO business (FBO=Fixed Base Operator,
a company that supplies products and services to pilots)
at Davis- Monthan from the late 1920's until just before WWII.
Hudgin signed the Register with the airplane on January 31,
1932 on a trip from Clover
Field, Santa Monica, CA to Nogales,
AZ. He carried Mary Gambee as passenger. She was his
wife.
Hudgin was involved in a forced landing with the airplane
at Nogales, AZ (ca. 1930) as the following two images
show. The engine suffered fuel starvation because of a faulty
valve.
